i know a man who works on computors and does'nt charge a leg.he wiped mine out and reinstalled,put in a new power supply.works great.

I think BRG is right, you need another cd-drive,it's a pretty simple task to replace,(sorry BRG,not tring to knock ya outta some free beer,LOL) I have a stack of cd-rom's i'll take $5.00 for one,but you might be interested in upgrading and just go buy a new
CD-RW,they're only about $ 50.00,even less on e-bay.

Hmmmmm.
Sounds like you may have "stripped a gear".
Is it a CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, or DVD-writer? My first guess is you may have to replace it.

Blue your hired lol. Its actually the piece in the tower that comes out to stick a cd or disk in. My child has pushed the button for it to come out and held it so when it trys to go back in it wont go completly back in so the little door will shut or to put a disk in it.
