Yes Just, it'll work with 2 os's on 1 hdd. Just go into the Drive management in windows and create you another partition for the Linux os you want to install and you'll be good to go.
Thanks, Chris

I like Ubuntu and Fedora. If you dont know much about installing OS's then have someone install it for you.
You can install in along with Windows and boot up to the OS you want to run. You can also run into problems that will require a bootloader before you computer will load a OS again. Sometime drives have to be loaded manualy. Current problem with Ubuntu 12.10 and ATI drivers, but it till works with out the drivers. In all Linux is a good and free OS with lots of free software you can install. If you like old Windows OS and hate Windows 8, then switch to Linux. You can also try before you install.

Virtually Virus free is Linux. Still install an Antivirus and a Web of Trust alternate just to be safe.

It's fantastic, Stable, Secure, & Free. Nothing bad about it. It is just not your typical Windows environment but it is worth the sharp learning curve which isn't really even sharp @ all these days. I recommend Fedora, or Ubuntu or even Mint. They're are so many great distributions out there. Lots of flavors & it is very customizable.

Great OS and don't throw you older system away, install Linux . Lots of free applications also - even Open Office has Linux version.
