ProTech...what happened with the hard drive was that it would not start up...it was just a black screen and it would say...IDE ERROR....I sent it back to Toshiba because it was still under warranty and they sent it back with the papers saying that the hard drive went out and they replaced it. I have it sitting on top of one of the screen like shelves that help it ventilate. It's an air shelf made for laptops and it props it up at an angle and I hear the fans come on so I know it is working. What it does is after it's been on for a while and sometimes when I try to restart it, or shut it down....the blue screen pops up warning of dump of physical memory. I have not installed anything new on it or anything. It gets on my nerves sometimes and I just want a good dependable laptop that I can get on. I'm a teacher and I need it for school. If your trates aren't too high I may get you to check it out for me. Thank you.

Did your old hard drive crash or did you upgrade to a bigger hard drive? Does it seem like your laptop may be overheating and is it getting proper ventillation on the back and bottom(if it has a bottom exhaust location). i can check it for you if you would like http://www.pro-tech.5u.com

The program is with the hard drive. If I was just guessing I would say it is slower than then one that came in it. It could also be getting ready to crash. I would go ahead and back up all my info.
