I have a Lenovo Thinkpad and I love it! I use to have a Dell laptop and I was happy with it untill I got the Lenovo. By the way I have taken a lot of online classes and both types worked well for my classes.

Best source I have ever used. Great customer service. Next day service if needed. You can search by many ways...manufacturer, screen size, memory, processor, price, on and on. You won't be disappointed by just looking. I personally bought a Gateway and absolutely love it. It's twice as fast as my desk top PC. Hope it helps.

look at the apple computers. i may be wrong, but i think they use a little different operating system than windows. and aren't as likely to get infected with virus's and bugs.

I'll be using it for my online college. I do a lot of photography in my spare time and i'll also be downloading a lot of music too.

I think Staples has a nice selection. The guy who does all our computer work for us likes their line better than Best Buy's. The best buy depends on your specific needs. For example, I'm buying a new laptop for my son for Christmas and he wants something with lots of memory and a dual core processor because he downloads a lot of music.
I recently got a Hewlett Packard at Staples and have been very happy with it. Often, they sell their display models for a good price. Just depends on how you will be using your computer. Good luck!
