You should also make sure that the windows workgroup is the same on both computers.

I agree w/ Forever Cynic. You don't need wireless. You would need your desktop computer running to route the print job from the laptop to the printer. It acts more like a printer server when you have sharing enabled as described by cynic.

In your desktop, go to the printer properties and make sure that it's shared. Then, when your laptop is networked in, it should list the printer as an option.

You don't need a wireless printer, as long as it's hooked up to the desktop.

I think you will need a wireless printer.

In my house I have a desktop that is connected to my printer .. I have Charter internet and a Linksys router ... How do I set the system up to be able to print off of my laptop through wireless ... Thanks!
