Build a desktop for gaming. I like cheaper costing laptops and then treat them as a throw away after 2-3 years.(yes,Dell owns Alienware.) I currently own a Acer and a Dell laptop. Both work fine and I really have no preference as to brand name. I would buy any brand name if it's cheap enough.

I assume you want it for games? A lot of people find it cheaper to actually buy a decent desktop gaming machine, and then a craptacular laptop for when they really want to be portable. A gaming spec laptop can get outdated really, really quick.

Otherwise, Asus laptops are spiffy.
