Sounds like a virus. Run a virus scan in safe mode.

My computer did this ... turned out to be a worm called Looksee, IIRC. Hopefully that's not what happened to you

sounds like a hard drive to me too. If you want to install it yourself or want someone to do it for you then call 973-0300, I have hard drives in stock!

Will it come up in Safe mode. Turn the computer on and keep pressing f8. If not may be a hard drive crash
