Can't be explained in simple terms, I'm afraid.
The problem that you were originally referring to came when someone tried to reply to a thread, but entered an incorrect username and password which took them to the "Error" page. At this point, the original information wasn't being collected correctly, causing the error.
The problem that you're referring to now, while having a similar symptom, isn't the same problem. It occurs when the server is receiving a large amount of traffic, causing the database to time out when updating what's called an "index".
I can't really explain it any more simply than that, but hopefully it will suffice to say that it only occurs when we have a particularly high amount of traffic, and that I'm working on it :)

No, same problem.
server, bogged down, program, index.
Would you care to explain, in simple terms?

BRG, the error you and Daddy P are referring to was fixed a long time ago. It was just a minor error, really, but took awhile to find.
The one that Pinkcamo is seeing is a lot more intermittent. It seems to happen when the server is particularly bogged down, and when the program tries to add the last post, it messes up the index that you're seeing. It'll fix itself when I get to make server upgrades (again).

From a technical (maybe) standpoint.
This problem appeared when things were changed from referencing a thread by the name of the thread to a "thread id number".
My best guess.

Pink I know this happens a lot. I don't think it was ever resolved. Once you open the posts and read them it makes sense. It is quite the conundrum.

My best guess?
A known problem.
Or maybe just bad traffic.

Not sure where to post this...so ill put it here and you can move it if you want... I noticed yesterday there was a thread where the name showing up for the last poster was actually the name of the original poster...then i replied and someone replied after me, and the last poster was showing up as me...not the one who posted after me...it stayed like that for a while... Now on the thread about the game wardon...the last reply is showing up in the initial subject for the thread. I remember this happening a while back and didnt know if you noticed it this time or not so thought id let ya know.
