try to hold the center button, and the play/pause button down at the same time for 5 seconds, this resets the ipod, you should get an apple logo up on your screen to reset

A friend of mine had the same problem. The restore worked

Try the Ipod restore. You can go to apple's site to do this.

My son got an Ipod Nano for Christmas. I downloaded the itunes and all that and put music on it for him. Last nite, i transferred 6 more songs to it. This morning, he turned it on and went to play a song and it froze up. Right now it is on and says it is now playing, but it isn't. There is no sound coming from it, i can't turn it off or anything, it is just completely frozen. I went to the ipod website and tried everything that it said, but I can't get it to do anything. When i ran the diagnostic from itunes, it said that Ipod connection status failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
