I think I killed my daughter's laptop...

FWIW, my guess would have been that the monitor cable was partially unplugged, or possibly damaged. Or, just as possible, a contrast setting on the monitor itself.

My daughter had picked up some viruses on her computer, and was totally unable to get online.... so I went into safe mode, managed to get on the internet and downloaded malwarebytes. I ran a scan of her computer and deleted all infected items.... and then restarted the computer. Now, her computer will not pull up her desktop at all. I'm just getting a clear blue screen ( not the blue screen of death, this is more the blue color of her desktop background without the icons ). Does anyone know what I've done?
