Another approach if you don't want to mess with removing the program is to use a system restore point that dates back right before you installed the program. It will roll back your PC to the date/time of the restore point which will be before you installed Office starter.

There is a program called Revo Uninstaller Pro. I would download that, and use it to uninstall office starter. It will remove registry entries that a lot of times Windows forgets to uninstall with the program. It should remove the updates with the product as you no longer have the product so you don't need the updates. However, that's not the case a lot of the times so you would need to uninstall them yourself which you can do with Revo as well, or you may do that with the programs and features.

Also, will all these updates use up too much hard drive space on my computer? My laptop even feels warmer to the touch after this last update today than it usually does and I've only been on it long enough to post this thread.

A friend I know sent me a document he created. I do not have Microsoft Word so a box popped up asking if I wanted to download Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office Starter (free version). I did not want to buy Word so I downloaded the Qffice Starter 2010. Wish I had not done it! About every day the software has UPDATES. If I try to postpone the updates, in about 5 to 10 minutes the website I'm on is closed down and the updating commenses. I then lose any other websites I minimized. The updates sometimes get hung up at 15% and/or 30% complete. I unplug then plug back in the PC cord to the surge suppressor to continue the update. Lately I don't have to do that. I am tired of all the updates and I would like to uninstall the previously downloaded software if I can. I did a google search and found the following instructions--1. Click start, and then click control panel. 2. Click uninstall a program under the Programs section. #. In the currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Office Starter 2010, then click uninstall. 4. Follow the uninstall instructions, and then restart the computer. Are the unistall instructions confusing--I hate to really mess up my Windows7 PC.
