As mannoc said HiJack This is a strong program. Be very careful using this. You could do a lot of damage.
But I do not recommend Norton, it uses a lot of resources and really slows down a computer.

If you need professional help, but are comfortable doing exactly what a trained expert tells you to do, and can follow clearly documented instructions exactly as presented - then hijackthis is a GREAT tool.
I'd recommend starting by visiting this site: http://www.geekstogo.com/fo...
And follow their directions. They do require that you download, install, and run several OTHER tools that will both protect you from messing anything up, and making sure you aren't wasting their time in case one of the more common tools can fix the problem for you.

this program is a very strong one. be carefull in using it as you can prevent other programs from working if you remove the wrong items.
if its ad-aware your concerned about go to download.com and search for spybot search and destroy.
if its viruses go to staples and buy norton antivirus.

Thanks Helton, hummmm I'm not so sure this would be a program for me. I know a few harmful files, but would be totally lost about the other ones...LOL

The official product description:
HijackThis scans areas of your registry and hard drive and returns a log of items which it detects. As this tool is recommended for advanced users only, we recommend you run a scan and then post your log file on a support forum, where someone will be able to suggest which entries to remove.
In other words, it will give you a list of files. If you know which ones are harmful, then you can delete them manually. But it won't tell you which (if any) are bad.
