My PC is a Sony. It was gave to me in 2002 for Valentine's Day. I'm running Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2005. So it's pretty old but still ran really well to be that old. It could be as Cpt.Crazy said it's too old and can't do what it used to....lol...Think it's time for a NEW PC. I was told to go with a Dell or HP.

I thank everyone for you're HELP. It is much appreciated.

Hard to tell exactly what happened from your post. However, if you installed Windows on the drive that has your pictures, etc. on it, you can use a program like "partition master" to restore previous partitions. Moreover, before you do anything else, take it to a professional.

OK... looks like what you need is an expert. Basically What the previous user has stated is correct. Either the Hard drive you saved the stuff to is not working or the Slave Hard Drive is turned on to the single hard drive which you installed windows to. What version of Windows are you using? If it's Windows Xp or 2003, 2000 or ME, Windows dropped all support for those OS versions a few months back, explaining some of the difficulty re-installing windows.

More than likely windows or your BIOS is not recognizing the second hard drive, or the hard drive you have everything saved to is in a partition of the Hard drive that you are unaware of. I'll follow-up with a PM, and see if I can help more.

When the HDD is hooked up, and if you go into your bios at bootup by simply most of the time *pressing del* on your keyboard, are you able to see the HDD listed under storage, or boot priority, or anything to that nature? If it's not listed in the bios, then Windows won't detect it either.

Wish I could...lol....He lives out of town now, plus we don't talk anymore. So I guess i'm just out of luck. If I had had the money, I would have had a professional do it. I don't understand what happened but, oh well i'll know next time. It didn't do that the first 2 times I reinstalled and I did everything the same way as before. Theres no way i'm going inside that box, I wouldn't have a clue what I was doing....lol

Thanks, anyway for trying to help. I appreciate it.

A friend put another hard-drive inside my PC. Are you saying turn off the PC and unplug the cords and go inside the PC box? If so OMG I can't do that i'm pretty smart about a PC but not that smart...lol...if that's what you mean?

Ok. First what you are say ing is the second hard disk it no showing up under my computer at all? Correct?

If hat is the case, turn off the PC.
Open up the PC
Un hook the hard drives ( both of them )
power and data cables

Hook up one hard drives power plug.
Turn on PC .
Is it spining making noise or doing any thing at all.
If it powers up and hums it should be working

Un hook it and repeat process of the second drive
If both power up as the are suppose too re install all of the cables

Next you need power on the PC an check for the hard drive in the Bios

You do this by pressing F2 repeatedly after powering on the machine

That should take you a while

Here the thing.....I have a second hard drive on my computer where I can store things I don't want to lose. I reinstalled my windows again. I have reinstalled twice already no problems. But this time I put everything I wanted to save on this hard drive like, pictures, music, just things I wanted to save, and now it's not on there if it is I can't find it and it's not showing. Is there anyway I can find it. I don't understand what happened. This time windows didn't install as easily as it did the 2 times before don't know why. Just don't understand.

And info on this matter would be appreciated. I'm so upset over this cause I lost everything I tried to save.
