Dad, both tv's are crap. If either has a problem, the odds of being able to get them fixed are extremely slim. They are disposable brands, and as soon as the manufacturers change models there will not be any parts available. that said, you might as well go with the cheapest one. Amazon is just as easy, if not easier to deal with than walmart.
As for a tuner, any tv that has a built in tuner will have a digital tuner. Analog is dead. And really all tv's have tuners except for some of the very high end panels. Some of the high end panels don't have speakers or tuners, and that money is put into better video processing. I just saw a new Elite brand panel that runs $6k, and it was amazing. And I have seen all of the high end panels.
As for connecting a computer to the tv, unless your computer has an hdmi output and windows 7, this is more trouble than it is worth. Using the vga connection, you have to go through a lot of hassle to get the external display on, and the resolution compatible with the tv. Plus, you don't have a remote control for it. buy a bluray player with netflix built in. it will work better

Thank you Bennett! That is basically all I want to be able to get is just WX!! if we ever get the cable cut. I just wanted to make sure it had the option to get channels crystal clear if they were within range. I think you are right and I will go with the Sceptre. Thank you for your advice.

I will Start with the tuner question. You will still need and antenna period. Otherwise you will only get WXXI.
I look on another site via the model number and the spectra has a VGA on the back ( standard blue PC Cable) Also you need a 3.5 mm audio cable to run sound.
It also has a usb (may be for updates only)
I would say get the spectra at walmart. If there is a problem the return should be pretty easy.

Here's another one I am looking at. I am pretty sure it has the digital tuner, but don't think it hooks to computer. It has more inputs so that is good. It is 30.00 more. Which is the best of these two and why in your opinions?

I know nothing about televisions or tech stuff. We just want a basic tv for the bedroom. This one says you can connect it to a pc. I kind of like that if it means I can use it to watch movies from the internet on the tv. Also, I would like to know if it has built in digital tuner. I know some of the newer tvs have a digital tuner that if a local channel comes in you get it crystal clear even without an outside antenna if you are close enough to the station tower. Does this tv have that? Thanks for any help.
