Open task manager see if you can find they running program (helps if you know the name) then kill the program. Careful you don't kill the wrong program. Run msconfig and take yahoo out of the startup, careful you don't turn off something you need.

control panel... programs and features ... uninstall yahoo mail... works the best

Right click the yahoo symbol in system tray and choose "Show Yahoo! Messenger"

Click "Messenger" options drop down in the top left corner of the display... then choose the "Preferences" option....

Choose the "Alerts & Sounds" Preferences and customize it the way you want with or without notifications for each item....

does anybody know how to turn off the little mail pop-up that comes up in the bottom right--- it even pops up on the guest program that my kids use for there stuff an every time I get an email I get a news report ahaaha help want that gone its driven me nuts
