lights flashing on the modem means its sending and recieving info

Thanks to all I ran avast, it took awhile, and no virus was found at all. I was surprised really, since I have never had any security on this thing for about 4-5yrs.

MOPEDMAN.... funny you should mention that. I have noticed the lights on my modem never stops blinking. This is a new thing for a couple of weeks, and this problem started about that same length of time.

I have Wilkes Tel. DSL. Could you tell me what you mean?

Avast is a good, free anti-virus program.

But if you're having Internet connectivity issues, it may be something to take up with your ISP.

watch the lights on your modem. It just might be that your internet provider has slighted you.

I see you talking about free scans. Do they remove the bad stuff for free or just scan and tell you the problem?

I don't know what I am doing and I know something is going on with my computer.

It will be working fast and fine, then suddenly, no net connection. I reboot and it is fine again for a while.

I hear you talk about avast being free.

I don't own credit cards. Someone please walk me through it, step by step please??
