Don't know if this is still a live topic or if i am bumping a useless one that has been dealt with already, but, the problem you are experiencing comes from not deleting the original partition(s) before you installed the fresh copy of the OS on the hard drive.
The fix is actually simple (though time consuming). All you have to do is reformat again.
This time, when Windows offers you the screen to pick the partition to put the operating system on, take a little time to read the instructions, and note the command to DELETE the partitions.
Do that first. Delete the previous installs and partitions (all of them). Then you will have one big RAW partition the full size of your HDD.
After you have successfully deleted the partitions, you can then install a fresh copy of the OS onto the one and only existing partition (if you choose to partition your hard drive with only one partition containing the OS and nothing else that is).

I think I would backup all my files onto DVD's then reformat and reinstall. Or put in a new hard drive and reinstall. Then use the old drive as a backup.
Can't say I have seen a way to uninstall an OS before. You could delete it but then you will have to reinstall it again because the old one will not work anymore.

My computer was running a little bit slow, so I got the "bright idea" to run the reinstallation disk that came with my computer. Now I have two operating systems on my computer. I want to delete the one I just installed. I can not figure out how to do this. If anyone knows how PLEASE help me....
