install intrusion detection software or hardware. use a firewall, change your work group and close port 139 by disabling network sharing. this is a start. also update your virus definitions, spyware definitions, and update windows with the latest patches and updates.
good luck

well i know how to hack into peoples accounts. if you want them to stop hackin into your account i suggest you change urpassword to some word u have never used before or something that you dont relate with. and if the hacker has a tracer or a scanner on certain accounts delete them and create a new one. that should do the trick

It all depends on what they are trying to hack. Beyond AIM, what have they hacked? You would have to go through AOL's abuse contact in order to deal with it. If they are attacking his home network there are a number of things that could be done. Be sure to use difficult to guess passwords that include letters (upper and lower), numbers, and special characters ( such as $ or _) for your password.
I log 3 or 4 major attempts ( 3000-4000 username/password combo) bruite force attempts per day on my home network. Sometimes if the attack originates in the US I copy the log files to an e-mail to send to the company that owns the IP address. Sometimes I get a response that action has been taken and sometimes I don't hear anything. It all depends on how the person is trying to gain access.
