Good News for Windows 8 "BLUE"

Microsoft is a third party application ask IBM. Also the start menu code is still in windows 8 but most users don't have the knowledge or skill set to re engineer it to fully functionality. I did it the hard way the first time to be sure it would in fact work.

Next I disagree windows has never been about novice users. The limiting of features is based marketing research and sales it has nothing to due with end users skill level.

The only hold outs for the point and click interface were Linux and Unix. And even that is simply not true anymore. It is funny because Apple inverted the mouse and is a flavor of Linux. I would point out Linux was slow to adapt due to its heavily regulated structure.

Yes, I know what you are saying, that it is an OS that is created for beginners only. But a huge brand like Windows Should give you the option (like they have for years) to use menu's that stay truer to say Xp than to force everyone to use the "user friendly" control panel and user settings menu's... Just an example. didn't mean to argue with you, just saying it should not be forced upon us, because If I need a better OS and windows isn't making one that I like, I'll jus tdo like I did when vista came out and I'll boot to linux.

Cpt - invalid point? "it's an insult to make an OS that's made for beginning users and not have a version for the advanced" your words, not mine.

Such small response to large body of questions and texts, I have no idea what you are talking about. I assume about making an OS that has no advanced option... If so, those "Hatch" devices are made for beginning users so it's kind of an invalid point.

Yep Capt. Like using one of those 'HATCH" computers used in preschool.

a "start bar app" Why wait? I would wait so I don't have to use a 3rd party "app" to do what it should do in the first place... Mistake no. 1 was trying to turn PC's into smartphones. Mistake no. 2 was making it "touch friendly" and mistake no. 3 was anything involving the term "app." Call me old school, but even microsoft still calls it an application... or to be more technical... anything that executes a program. For those of us that are technologically gifted, it's an insult to make an OS that's made for beginning users and not have a version for the advanced

Iobit makes a start bar app that adds My PC and 7 style start menu. Why wait ? Also you can boot straight to desktop.

I'll only be happy when "My Computer" is either on the desktop or easily accessable and when "Control panel" exist again. They already made me a little upset when they redone the whole control panel to be "user friendly" in vista and 7, but in windows 8 it's just ridiculous.

If "blue" turns out ot be more classic, I might think about upgrading
