"If you don't like the cloud technology, that's fine"
Disconnect yourself from the "net", totally.
Then reply shortly after you experience withdrawls.

If you don't like the cloud technology, that's fine - I can't convince my management to get behind the movement either. But there are many other good free choices OTHER than AVG and Avast that I encourage you to check out.

Make sure to read the TOS closely.
I disagree with the "cloud" thingy.
As long as you are remotely connected to the "host", you're protected.

pk, that's useful information, if one were to uninstall say AVG and use this cloud antivirus would it still report to those large companies?

AVG and Avast both take payments from large companies such as Adobe and Microsoft to report back to them when they find various keygens, registry keys, activation codes, etc. I no longer recommend them for any user as that by itself is the definition of spyware.
If you want free from a company that actually respects your privacy, check out Panda Cloud Antivirus.

google windows one care scanner. It is a spyware/virus download. Takes a long time to run, but is very good.
