I use a free program called powerdesk 6.0 that has a pull down menu called archive. It will zip & unzip files easily.

Thanks so much!! I have been trying to figure it out- I know it has to be simple- but seems like I have tried a hundred ways and gotten a hundred different results. I will try that later this evening when I am able to get to it again.

plug your flash drive into a usb port it will self install
( you may or may not have to reboot your computer)
....
use winzip or winrar to compress the file
( or what ever compression software you choose)
once its compressed
right click on the zip or rar file and a menu will open ... click ..."send to"...
and pick the drive(your flashdrive) you want to send it to .
....

This is gonna drive me nuts if someone does not volunteer to help me out. LOL. I have been fiddling for days- (hate to admit that) and trying to figure out how to get a file to condense and then put it on a flash drive- can someone help- PLEASE!!
This could possibly keep me from going off the deep end.
