Well by the description it looks safe but I would try it on a small HDD I don't need anymore before I would use it on a perfectly good working drive. That's a lot of trouble though. I would just use the original disc of the OS if I were you. Better safe than sorry. BTW you can always download an ISO of the OS you need.

Just make sure you get 7-zip or winrar to extract it into a folder and then scan the contents of newly extracted out folder with up to date copies of your antivirus and definitions for it. If you need any further call me @ 336-566-2048 or email me @ marksqcs@gmail.com and I will walk you through it for a small price of $20.00.

I will perform a Full Reload for you for 35.00 if you would like. To do that you just need to drop it by the house. I do offer comprehensive reloads as well for $40.00 and an additional $15.00 per hour beyond the first hour. This will include quite abit of extra work done so you don't have to worry about it. I charge by 30 minute increments. Anything beyond 30 in minutes will auto round up to the nearest hour. Time logs & Tech Notes are kept for our records.

It goes far beyond just reloading the OS. It ensure the machine is ready to be used for whatever the consumer needs if for immediately upon receipt. If you want I can buy if off of you for as much as $50.00 based on it's specs. Please keep me in mind. I offer outstanding customer service and quality labor @ very affordable rates.

Don't Auto nuke it may destroy the heads & cylinders. White America. How many layers of zero's does that write. Anymore that 1 single layer will damage the drive.

Don't ever tell anyone to do that unless they intend to destroy and never use it again so that Data cannot be recovered by Dumpster divers.

Maybe you are aware of that but she does want to give this computer always so just be careful when you give advice. I'm not familiar with the program but I will definitely be checking it out soon for my own purposes.

Older Drives cannot handle deep formats. It will destroy them. It is the nature of the beast of modern day mass manufacturing and Transit operations. I know exactly what I am talking about and I mean no disrespect sir.

You can reformat the hard drive with this
http://www.dban.org/

Thanks so much for your help. I know so little about computers. I believe I do have a cd that came with it when I bought it. I will give it a whirl after I delete the files (if I can figure out how to do that too). Thanks again. If I get into problems, I may ask more questions.

yes empty the recycle bin.
deleting the files send them to the recycle bin , emptying the recycle bin deletes them.
if you got a cd with the operating system on it when you bought the pc ,
it will walk you through reformatting it.
which erases everything and puts the computer in a like new state

I can empty the recycle bin. Is that what you mean? As far as reformatting... I have no idea about that. I am giving the pc away, so would that be an important thing to do?

I transfered everything off my old Dell PC to a USB 2.0 flash drive. My question is "Is everything now off the PC?" I want to get rid of the PC but I want everything off first. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
