Glitter, are you using Firefox, too? It seems like the majority of the problems have been with Firefox, except for maybe Bluebird.

Redfly, FWIW there's a significant number of dial-up users in the region; especially the mountains, where DSL isn't available in rural areas. Back when we did web design for clients, that was a big issue; customers would want flashy but slow sites, and didn't necessarily believe me that they would be alienating a good 20% of the population.

I was having a problem the other night sending a message. It took about 20 minutes to process.

Hmm. Bluebird, I'd rather the problem be on my end, honestly; on my end I can fix it, but I can't fix Charter.

Safari (the default iPad browser) has always been a little iffy, but I'm not aware of any current problems. And if you were able to switch to Silk (the Kindle browser) and still had a problem, that eliminates the device and browser. That means that the problem was either the local network, Charter, or us.

The server load was normal at 7pm, but if you were able to access other sites then the problem HAD to be on our end. We had 62 posts come through from 7pm until 8pm (less than the same time period yesterday, but more than the same time period last Wednesday), so the site seemed to be responsive, so... I don't know. I've eliminated all of the obvious possibilities.

If you see it again, though, can you please take a screenshot, photo, or video of exactly what you're seeing, and email it to me? The error message, or seeing what you're seeing, might help me figure out the problem.

It SHOULD work fine with dial-up, Natdog. A speed test shows that the site loads in less than 3 seconds on dial-up. Are you using Firefox, too?

I believe I'm using google chrome here, I need to delete some of these programs I got here. It just came up saying GW not responding but lasted about 15-30 seconds.

GW would not load. I went to other sites at that time with no problems.Using IPad even switched to Kindle and still not loading at that time. It is okay now. Charter could have had lots of usage at that time. I had no problems loading GW for the past couple weeks at the beach.today is my only problem. Thanks Jason!

1 thing I just noticed on the weather at top of page is Sunny and 73% now.

That's actually an issue with the local weather station at the airport. It's been up and down a bit for the last few days

Bluebird, when you say that you couldn't log on, do you mean that the site was loading but wouldn't let you log in, or that the site wouldn't come up at all?

FWIW, the server load was actually fairly low at 7pm. Our peak time is usually from 8-11pm, and it's considerably more loaded right now than it was at 7. We had a pretty heavy load at 8am, when I was running a few system scans, but that's all for the server. Other than that, the problem is most likely with a browser incompatibility.

I use Internet Explorer, on Charter and a Dell Windows 7.0. Haven't had any problems at all the last few weeks.

Mine is working fine tonight, but for the last couple of weeks I was typing faster than the letters were showing. Had to go back and retype at 5 wpm, lol.
I'm using Firefox tonight. IE wasn't slow.

------

I had this same problem yesterday and the day before, on gowilkes only. I use chrome , don't know about all that other stuff. It's working fine now.

Most of the time my post would not go and at times I could not log onto GW.

NATDOG25

I had problems but I think it's cause I'm using dial-up still. Only on GW with problems like it stop responding and wait few minutes come back up.

Bluebird, can you confirm whether the problem you mentioned before was that it was taking 1-8 minutes for a post to submit, or 1-8 minutes to show up after it was submitted?

That sounds different than the problem others have described, so it COULD have been a Charter issue, but that would be a bit of a coincidence.

I use duck duck go or google. It could be a Charter issue. It was worse around 7:00 pm.
