Yes it's possible, but unlikely to resolve your problem.

If it is not a hardware failure, then the 2nd PC will likely bluescreen for an entirely different reason - it will be trying to boot with drivers for hardware that is no longer there, and can't load the drivers for the new hardware.

If it is a hardware failure, and the 2nd PC is more or less exactly the same, then you might get lucky and this works.

If it wasn't a hardware failure, then the original problem will still be there, and it will continue to blue screen anyway, regardless of the hardware.

Additionally, depending on the OS (XP, Vista, 7), if too much of the hardware is changed (motherboard and NIC at the same time for example), it might force the OS to cause you to re-validate it online - which will mean a call to microsoft to explain why you have it on a second PC. And that's if it DOES actually boot up.

If there is data on the drive that you need, and you've just given up on the old PC altogether, it's probably safer to pull the harddrive out of the original, and install it as a slave or an external drive on a different PC. Reinstall your programs on the new one, and copy your data over.

Have you tried a repair? It may or may not work, and you might still have to reinstall all of your apps, but the data itself would still be there after you do. If it comes to that, I would get it running using that method, then backup your data, then do a fresh clean install of the OS and everything else.

Is it possible to transfer ALL information from one computer to another- I mean DOS and all- I have a desktop that will power up to blue screen but no futher- what type of cable is needed??
