Computer Tek is right also. You need to download Malwarebytes and Spybot Search and Destroy and then run them in safe mode after running sfc /scannow command. I misquoted on the first command. It is cd \. That should bring you to the root of C:. Why Spybot Search and Destroy? Because it will usually pick up some spyware and adware that malwarebytes may not detect. It has happened before with me.

I agree with MYPCTech84. Your system files is corrupt, and even after a recovery, you will still need to isolate the malicious program and infected files for removal. Backing up your important files, photos, may not be an option, as you may then spread the infection to your refreshed system after reinstallation of the OS. MalwareBytes is a great program for finding and removing many forms of malware, but you will need some experience to complete the process of full recovery.

You can replace the Hard Drive, install a new OS, but loose all files. Then practice some safe computing, by not downloading, and keeping an updated security suite running 24/7.

@ Angry Kid, Try this if your running Windows 7: Insert Your Windows Recovery Disc or Installation Disc and start the Command Prompt from the disc after it boots up from the DVD RW or CD Rom drive. You must hit the correct function key and select the Optical drive the disc is in to get it to boot properly from the disc inserted. Select the Command prompt option. Then Type a simple commands as follows, exactl

This will bring you to the root of the C drive prompt.


Then type as follows, exactly: (Make sure their is one space between sfc and /scannow. scannow should be one word written together.

You should probably do a "repair install" from the original system dish

boot to CD

proceed untill you push f8 (agree to terms) then select repair

Can't run anything, computer won't even boot up b/c of the file corruption.

Some malware can say that it is corrupt when it is not.
