Chances are it is a phone setting issue. The browser used to connect, or the general security setting may be preventing access.

Also I think that phone needs to be rooted and tethered to use WIFI. If you have or are going to root the phone make a backup of the ios rom

There should be no password for the Facebook app. If it comes with the Facebook pre-installed on the phone like my wifes, it just requires your Facebook username "Email Address" and your password. I recommend however, to not use the default app due to incompatibilities and its sluggish, and download Friend caster. There is a Pro version which is way worth the money, or you can download it yourself and put it on your phone. Try using it and see if it'll work better for you than the default Facebook app.

Is it an existing facebook account or are you trying to create 1from the phone?
Don't expect too much from the cell phone provider. If it's a facebook issue, there is not much they can do. Technical support may be a better avenue. The providers take responsibility for third party applications

I just got a samsung transform ultra smartphone and am trying to get it hooked into facebook. facebook gives me a app password and when I try to log in from the cell, it tells me incorrect password. why won't it accept the app password that facebook gives me? have tried several times, all with the same result.
