Yes; Gateway owns eMachines. And Acer owns Gateway.
I think they have similar warranties (1 year parts/labor and phone support).
Gateway computers offer a large selection of computers from entry level to high end, while eMachines are built for less demanding use. Many parts are probably shared, but Gateway would offer more powerful video cards, bigger hard drives, more RAM, etc.

Is Emachines made by Gateway? and if so do they have basically the same warranties and parts?
