If you do a system restore do one close to the date the problem happened, if that dosnt fix it try it again but go a day farther back. try that till your dvd is recognized. there are also other areas we can check.

If this has just started happening, the easiest way to fix the problem may be to just do a system-restore to a time before you had the problem.

I'd bet you a plug-nickel that will fix the problem.

my laptop is a gateway about 2 years old, has been working fine, one day it just did not recognize my cd/dvd drive although all the checks I've done say it is there and is the right one. It gives a code of 32 and says something about "optiarc" anyone know what the problem could be?
