thanks everyone. i have roxio as well, and it's about the worst excuse for dvd burning software i've ever seen.

There is another free program that I have used many times but harder to find nowadays is (alcohol120%). It works good at burning most anything. Nero is pretty much the standard any more.

my computer came with Roxio. it pretty much bites

Don't know if they're the best, but I've always used Nero.
