As long as you have itunes set to manually manage music and videos, you can delete them from itunes and they will stay on your ipod

Thank you so much, Dougal_Dragon, for your response.

The itunes finally downloaded and I installed it @ 5am this morning. Very sleepily, but it is working.

I do, however, have another question. After I add songs to the ipod, can I delete them from the itunes without them deleting from my ipod? I set the itunes to sync manually, but I am wondering if I delete the songs from the itunes library, if the next time I add to the ipod it will delete songs it doesn't read in the player?

I apologize for being trouble, but be patient with me....I'm old. :D

I finally got my ipod!!! Yea!!! But, I am having trouble with the download for itunes. I dl it and then when I try to install it I get a message that says it isn't supported by Win32 or something. Anyway, do I absoloutely have to have itunes to put media onto my ipod? Or can I use Media Player? I have tons of tunes and I want to put them in a centralized location, ipod, so that I can have easy access to them. Please Help me. Thank you in advance.

Also, any suggestions to what I may be doing wrong in my attempts to dl itunes are appreciated.
