Uninstall windows photo gallery and re-install it...... Or maybe install a different photo viewing program.

Don't think so Dale. Each picture is named the Disc number that the card (or camera) assigned it...
Example DSC001079
DSC001080
etc.

Maybe Windows Photo Gallery has some kind of "index" or "database" that is getting "full"?

I have been transferring some of the pictures I have from the camera memory cards to my laptop (Windows Photo Gallery), doing some editing, and grouping the pics in folders. The first 20,000 worked perfect. Now, suddenly, I'm having problems. Some of the pics will not import. If there are, say 200 pics taken on one day and you select all 200 to be placed in a folder, IF one or more is selected, but doesn't actually show, it seems that one didn't import and it's causing the program to freeze up and the importing comes to a stop. I hope that makes sense. Kind of hard to explain.
Anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?
I feel sure the problem is with Windows Photo Gallery and NOT the card since I have tested several cards and I'm getting the same problem with all cards. Or is the problem with my laptop? Which still has plenty of memory and the operating speed seems to be fine.
