Birdie, your best bet is to start a new topic, state what each one is doing wrong, and let someone here try to help YOU fix it for free.
If that fails, then you'll probably already have 20 responses, each offering to fix them for $1 cheaper than the previous, until someone will slip up and offer to pay YOU to let them fix it...

Can anyone tell me who would be good to work on a Dell Laptop and a Dell Desktop? They are about four or five years old. Thank you.

This is why you shouldn't buy Dell:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010...;src=busln
"A study by Dell found that OptiPlex computers affected by the bad capacitors were expected to cause problems up to 97 percent of the time over a three-year period... "
Note that the study was paid for and performed FOR Dell...

If you want a laptop, I'll tell you what I did. Fed-up with foreign-based tech-support that was anything but helpful, I bought my Gateway laptop from Best Buy...along with an extended warranty. When you buy the extended warranty, part of what you're buying is AMERICAN-based tech-support...people you can actually communicate with.
For a desktop, Computer Express is great. They'll probably build my next system...because I can specify some very specific parts I need for work. But if your needs are more generic, there are lots of great places to buy, as others have recommended.
I ALWAYS buy extended warranties on laptops, but almost never do on anything else.

Circuit City on line. They no longer have store, they sell through a warehouse. Great deals!

Ebay. Get a good off lease Ibm Thinkpad or ThinkCentre that is off lease and has been refurbished. Still current hardware, built like a rock, and can be had for under $150 used. Companies buy/lease them in bulk for a reason!
Even a new one can be cheaper than a Dell if you watch for sales. http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUI...E3037A4757
