It was heat problem. CPU would cut the PC off to protect itself Replaced the stock cooler, new thermal grease and add a 92 mm exhaust fan. Droped the cpu temp 50 degrees F
The old fan was good however the latch was fatigued. With out proper pressure the heat was not dissipating correctly through the heat sink.

Try a reformat if you have the OS setup disc.

You've been fighting this for more than a month. It's time to wipe that drive and reinstall. If the drive is actually bad (probably it is OK), it would show it then.

Just spoke with the computer company and they checked it said the hard drive is gone

Norton is one of the worst. It needs to be uninstalled. I would download Free AVG Malwarebytes Spybot SD
If still your still stuck let me know

My best guess is that you have a boot sector virus. The best way to fix this is to reformat the hard-drive and reload Vista. Its possible that you have a program conflict but I doubt it. I don't think any anti virus program can clear it at this point.
Did it just suddenly start doing this?
Or did it start after you got it back?

Yes downloaded and it ran a scan onetime.. second time it shut down..Didn't pick up anything
