I can agree with u Forever cynic and i have explained to Sneely what the problem is and it is just a video card problem from what they have described to me and i have told her about how much a new one would be but also told her she can find an older used one and that should be fine for the age of the PC. and as i have posted in her it would be about 10 bucks to replace it and get it installed properly or it can also be where it was set up for a monitor with higher screen rez and then it would be an easier fix and cheaper too since a new card would not have to be purchased.

I agree with the posting it here issue. Many of us do offer sarcastic free advice in the Tech section...

JMO, but I would never hire someone with an hourly rate. If they mess up, or simply can't figure out what they're doing, then I would be stuck paying more and more for their mistakes.
I think that PC Source is $50 an hour, but I wouldn't let them repair my toaster. Still, they should charge more than someone working from home, because they have a lot more invested in the business, and if you're unhappy you can make official complaints. Someone doing repair as a hobby should base their rates closer to $20 an hour.
I don't know cpu_repair, and have no idea whether he knows what he's doing. But at least the rates he posted are in line with someone doing it as a hobby. Still, if it were me, I would pay more and hire a reputable business with at least some sort of a guarantee.
Or, just ask explain the problem you're having here, and we'll tell you how to fix it for free.

Mine is $2.99 an hour. I do have a fuel surcharge of $400.00 per mile, regardless of if I drive it, or you do.
I seem to have a lot of spare time.

Sorry, I don't know who it is you're seeking. Jason/gowilkes might know if they had purchased an ad.
I'll do it for $1 less than the previous poster.
NOW who has the cheapest rates in town?

Back in the summer I saw an ad on here for a E and J computer repair that offers good rates to schools. I am a teacher and I had this guy Eric come and fix our computer. The ad is no longer on here and we have lost his number. Does anyone know this person. His services are greatly needed. Thank you.
