Computer problems

You should re-install windows completely. Burn all data you want to keep to a disc before reinstalling. If you're computer illiterate this will fix your problem. Also, if you're using dial up your "decent time frame" could be due to the recent rains grounding out the phone lines thus lagging your computer. Which will more than likely clear up when the weather does.

do you have any kind of virus protection ?

have you cleared your temporary internet files lately?

what about defraging your hard drive?

To find out how to do these things .... go to www.google.com and search for the answers. I always find that i learn and retain knowledge if i look it up for myself.

Anyone else feel like throwing computer in the garbage? For past several days can't get anything in decent time frame! Constantly showing "this web page cannot be shown--diagnose, etc"...what's going on? Takes forever just to get on anything---I'm computer "illiterate" so I'm really up the creek with this mess, and Yahoo is constantly making changes that make it worse!
