locate the recovery disk and do it yourself. it's really not that hard. all you have to do is follow the instructions. be sure to have your utilities disk with you as well, so you can re-install drivers, etc.

and pay again to fix it right.and if you still don't belive me.I'll be glad to show
you the paid receipt.from both stores, and what I ask them to do.and what

"I wouldn't recommend Linux to someone who's not even comfortable installing an operating system."

I would. Especially Ubuntu. It's very easy to use.

As for your problem with your graphics card, Radeon has never provided decent support for Linux. That's a Radeon problem, not a Linux problem. All the more reason to patronize nVidia, who provides excellent Linux support.

Hardware compatibility is a concern with Linux users. But in my opinion, it's a small price to free yourself from the numerous problems that come with Windows.

I wouldn't recommend Linux to someone who's not even comfortable installing an operating system. For instance, when I installed Ubuntu on my late '07 early '08 Dell desktop with ATI HD2400 pro video card, there was no stable driver, and the video looked like a distant tv station must look to someone who's been drunk for six days. I don't see a novice being able to fix a situation like that.

Just a thought.

I do not have any start up disc. Yes I have stuff on it I would like to save. As soon as you turn it on the screen comes up( black screen) I get the error message and it will not do anything else.

could be a virus or something wiped out the files that tells your OS how to start up or it could be your drives has is going bad or died, Try to reinstall as tazzmeister suggested.

Sounds like you need to restore your OS from the startup disks. do you have stuff on the computer that you would like to keep?

"Or you could google Linux, and get a open source, fully supported operating system for free."

I'd highly recommend Ubuntu Linux. I switched recently, and am loving it.

Well if you bought the computer new, it came with a backup of your Operating System. Its pretty self explanatory. Put in the disc and follow the onscreen instructions. If you bought the computer used, or you lost the disc, call around to local stores, walmart, radio shack, staples, etc and see what a windows operating system disc is and buy it and do it yourself. Its easier than you think. Or you could google Linux, and get a open source, fully supported operating system for free. Need anymore help, email me at demon6274@yahoo.com or pm on here. Email gets a faster reply.

Does anyone know anywhere besides Staples that can re-install an operating system on a computer...and do you know how much it cost...it's 70 bucks at Staples.
