don't buy another dell .i had a 1526 2 yrs old.would have cost me more to fix it than it's worth.u can call ron at computer scope and ask him about the dell laptops.he sugest hp's.

You could also type "msconfig" into your search (usually where it says start or there is a windows logo, bottom left) and take some things out of your start up configuration. Don't uncheck thing if you don't know what they do/

Get all the good stuff off you want to keep, onto a storage device and restore it to factory settings.

Thank you, I will try updating my bios and download spy bot and see if that helps. I have restored and cleaned up.

Have you cleaned your cookies, defragmente it,cleared out your old internet files, do a disk clean up. That sometimes helps mine.

Or re-install windows to its factory settings, losing everything on its hard drive.

Try updating your bios

I have a Dell laptop (3 years old)and it is giving me problems, give me some advise on how I should fix it. Buy another one is not an option! I would perfer something I can do myself to fix it. Here's the problem- It is VERY slow (it is not a slow internet connection) and freezes up. Please help, What should I do?
