Do you get this error on any page that you go to, or just when you first go online? I've read that older Banshee video cards often have a hard time with DirectX, but if that's the case then it should only happen when you're playing games or go to websites that use DirectX.

It's possible that you have a virus or spyware that's causing the video card to recognize DirectX, even when it's not there. So first things first, run AdAware to see if you have any problems. You can download AdAware for free from http://www.download.com

Next, in Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options > Security, and change the setting for Internet to Default.

If that doesn't work, the next idea would be to reinstall your video card. But in order to do that, we need to know what model you have, so try the others first. Post back if that doesn't work, and I'll walk you through how to reinstall your video card.

I was wondering if anyone might could tell me what could be going on with my puter thingie.

Just about everytime I turn it on and go online, a big box pops up that says "the banshee display driver is not working".

HELP PLEASE ANYONE....

Thanks for any help you can give me on this.
