The touch pad on my laptop is jumpin around and I just turn it off and use a small wireless mouse. I find the touch-pad hard to use anyway. Adam Lewis 667-7454 - He does computer repair and is recommended by WCC.

My mousse does that when the battery is low, other than that I have to wipe the bottom and clean the mousse pad if it gives me fits... Check the batteries first

Clean it...if it has crevices around it take a tooth pick and slightly insert it and go around the crevices to clean out any dirt.
Sometimes if there is dirt or foreign matter in the corners or such it can cause the pad to hang.
Otherwise unless you are computer savvy take it to repair.
If it does not work afterward then it has an issue with the thin wiring or connections to the motherboard.

Take the little cover off the back of the mouse and take the ball out. You will probably find a lot of 'lint' around the rollers. Just blow in there to loosen the lint.
If you see anything accumulated on the rollers, you can use a pencil eraser to clean that stuff off, then blow it out too. Then just replace the ball and cover.

Look for dust in the cracks around it and try cleaning it first.
