"File Hippo.com is just like all these other websites that offer free services until you try to use it."

Uh... no, it's not.

It offers free software downloads without strings or stipulations.

File Hippo.com is just like all these other websites that offer free services until you try to use it. Sure the scan is free, but what good is the scan if you cant remove what it finds? I need help now. My computer freezes after a few minutes of use. I don't have the time to download useless crap when I can barely keep the computer on long enough to download software.

It not a virus it is spyware. Go to Filehippo.com. Download at lest 3 spyware programs and run them. It is free.

Have you cleared the temporary files. Go to your Control Panel then go to internet options. then Delete temporary files and cookies. you may have to resign into your online passwords but that's not a big deal. Too much temporary file space used up can bog down your computer. This is something that should be done regularly.

Sounds like it's overheating. Take off the side with the computer on, and make sure that all of the fans are running.

You might also try cleaning out any dust. Turn it off, and then use your vacuum cleaner to clean the areas around the fans... especially the back. Don't push the vacuum against anything, just hold it an inch or so away from everything to suck out dust.

It freezes up ever so often, been doing it since Sat. real bad. Ran the virus protection found nothing. It even stops it from running and then you have to restart it. When it freezes the mouse is still able to move, just not able to close programs. Also Ctrl +alt+delete doesn't work to bring up the programs that are running so you can end the task when it freezes like this.
