If the D drive is a restore partition

Yes you can clean it and remove it. You can wipe it and move it to the C drive for more room.

Burn a restore cd and repartition your D drive.

What's the "D drive" is different from computer to computer. On my desktop, it's the restore partition. On my laptop it's the dvd drive. Neither can be "cleaned-up", nor should either! Ok...the dvd drive can be "cleaned-up" by removing the disc, and putting in a new one!

If your computer came with "pre-installed" software the D drive is probably a partition containing a backup or restore information

this is very common with larger manufactures, if this is the case you should leave it alone.

If you go to computer or my computer you should be able to determine whether it is a CD, or HD

unless you have had a 2nd HD installed it most likely is not a drive that you should erase information from

best results would be to clean up the C drive, or install a larger drive, a good computer repair shop should install a larger HD and copy your info for around $100

What is "the d drive" on your system isn't necessarily what's "the d drive" on mine. On my system "the d drive" is my internal dvd burner. On yours, I'm guessing it's a secondary hard drive (the boot drive that contains Windows is USUALLY, though not always, the C drive).
