Burning Camcorder Movies Onto DVD-Rs

GUESS WHAT!!! After going absolutely NUTS for HOURS, I figured the GDS out!! It was the STUPID software that came with the drive, NOT ME!!!! WOOHOO! It was Nero 7 and it came with NO instruction booklet. So after hours killing myself, I found an online manual, that after 23 pages stated they DO NOT burn Video movies onto dvd and you have to upgrade to some other bs software.. Oh **** NO! Heres the killer kicker... The driver came with a program that installed and I had NO clue what it was or did. It burned my DVD in 20 minutes and came out great!!!!

ummm ! put a blank dvd in your burner then just drag the avi into the program click convert and wait it will prob take 15-20 minutes to convert and burn
* burn speed ... slower is better. it takes 1.5 - 2 hr movie takes about a half hour to finish

Check and see if your DVD burner takes DVD+R or DVD-R. There is a difference.

Ok, so I went out and spent 100 dollars on a dvd drive. I bought the DVD-R disks. The drive came with "Nero Startsmart Essentials". It does not list an option to burn "dvds". It spent a while encoding it and then spit out the disk saying that it was the wrong kind or something to that effect. I do not want to buy another program if it is going to do the same thing. The video I want to put on the disk is only 30 minutes long. The movie is saved in an .avi format and .wmv.. HELP! I have googled this to DEATH and nothing makes any sense.
