The biggest difference is a 64 bit operating system's ability to use more memory (RAM, or random access memory). You can put as much RAM in your system as it allows, but 32 bit Windows can't access more than about 3GB.

There's no such limitation with 64 bit. Usually you'll notice no difference, but with memory-intensive jobs like editing large photos in "raw" format, mixing multitrack audio at high bitrates, or editing high def video, then yes...64 bit can be a huge improvement, IF the software you're using was written to take advantage.

I don't think there's a system sold with a 64 bit OS that ships with less than 4GB of RAM. 8GB or even 12 will result in even higher performance, though you pass the point of diminishing returns. 8GB will not, for instance, have twice the performance of 4GB.

about 32....

seriously tho - it depends on why you are asking. Are you referring to the OS, the CPU, or other software?

These days - with all else being equivalent, get the 64bit version. It will still run your 32bit stuff if you need it to. Note that you do need a 64bit cpu to run a 64bit OS. Any CPU or computers sold NEW today that are 32bit should be considered bottle of the barrel - however - they may very well still do what you need it to do with plenty of power to spare.

What is the difference and advantage or disadvantage of 32 bit or 64 bit?
