Actually you can use a screen with different hook-ups using adapters however this is throwing more unnecessary money in a hole. I have only done that when someone wanted to upgrade the screen.

It is a little more complicated than just buying a screen and replacing. It is time consuming because matching the screen part requires opening the computer. Before ordering a screen, take into consideration that the laptop is sold with different types of screens and the hookups are different for each. The only real way to determine this is to open the computer and take the screen out, matching the wires with the one you are going to buy. DO NOT make the mistake of ordering a cheap screen from ebay and then try installing your new screen only to find out that the hookups are different.

Use a guitar pick to remove the bezel

Pretty much it just involves removing the bezel, unscrewing the latches that holds the screen it, maybe having to remove the ribbon that connects to the motherboard, and that's pretty much it.

I have a practically new laptop that has a busted screen, I think I can order just the screen for around 45 bucks but I'm weary of being able to change it out myself.

Any tips or problems you ran into?
