Norton Does suck. It is the worst not at detecting viruses but merely for leaving such a large digital footprint. Comodo leaves a very light digital footprint and will not slow down your PC.
If it is dated I reccomend running Comodo or Microsoft Security Essentials in combination with Malwarebytes found at www.malwarebytes.org or spybot search & destroy found at www.safer-networking.org. Type exactly as entered or you may download a virus in your attempt @ downloading Spybot Search & destroy.

If your looking for a free antivirus then Comodo is probably the best and can be found at www.comodo.com. Microsoft Security Essentials is also pretty good but it has been known to be overated as their are some viruses it just want detect.
If you are willing to pay for high end protection, I would highly reccomend Kaspersky. It is the best in my opinion. It is a joy and ease to use.
I absolutely adore Kaspersky AV. They also sale theirs for under 75.00 and it should have a license for up to 3 PC's, at least. I hope this helps. If you need help installing it and performing maintenance on your PC, I am more than happy to do so for a one time fee of $25.00.

I use Panda Internet Security and I am very happy with that one... I hate Norton it sucks!
I buy an OEM Panda disc on eBay for around $20, now it comes in versions for 1 or 3 PCs.

if speed is of concern you could use multiple online scanners like eset, kaspersky, and virustotal
it would also provide a wider range of detection

Right now I Am recommending Microsoft Security Essentials (free download from Microsoft).
Mcafee is also good but seems to have been "targeted" by hackers the last few months.

What's the best antivirus out there? I have Norton 360 and I think it's really slowing down my computer I don't mind paying for something as long as it's good and doesn't bog my computer down.
