Yes I have had sprint cell service also and did not like it either.
As far as lobbies and cafe's no can do. Big HIPPA violation for me. I don't have the fine to pay the charges with. I have to keep everything under lock and key. When I go thru security in airports it is usually interestng also.
Also thanks Matlock, I was wondering if anyone had the AT&T card. AT&T is really who I prefer. I need something fast and reliable for my work.

Most hotels that charge in the room have free internet in their lobbies. I have at times paid the daily rate for in room or just used my laptop downstairs. I also have spent hours at coffee shops using their free WiFi.
As far as cell service, I had Sprint for 2 years and it was terrible. I have verizon now and it is much better as far as signal availability and quality. I use it for phone only, no data.

Wanna bet. These upscale hotels charge you to access their internet with a regular wireless card. In LA it was cheaper to pay for 2 weeks than 9 days. In Charlotte is was $12 for 24 hours. Normally I can pick up a signal from elsewhere with my wireless card.

Can you not plug in? What is it that you are doing that requires wireless? Just curious, it's free.

Good Luck! What I really like about it is that I do not need two services, one for home and one for on the road. Just plug and go! I think they have them at Radio Shack now.

Thanks Bestill I will check that out. Sounds like what I need for traveling. I do not want to go with Verizon again. I hated them when I had cell service through them

I use the Sprint Network, now this is how savvy I am. They gave me a thing that you can plug into any computer. I plug it in at home on the desktop or when I am out and about use it in the laptop. Works like a cell phone. I have never had a problem connecting and the speed is really fast. I have used it all over the South and Midwest without a connection problem. Monthy Fee. I think it is the same thing as the ATT connect card that you see on TV but I do not know how their service is here. Sprint has been great.

I know the service is very slow here in Wilkes. We only use it away from here. It worked well untill we moved here. I guess they have to use lines from AT&T to provide serivce here. Forgive me for nor providing the technical terms. MY extent of knowledge is typing Gowilkes.

Okay that is not a problem. I checked into Verizon and I hated their phone service. I can't decide who to go with. I guess I could check with my wireless service at home and see what they have to say. I know I need the USB thing you plug in. Sorry computers are not my thing. Can tell you what to do on one but have no clue how they work

Okay. what do all you guys do when you travel. I have a wireless card but I get tired of paying the fee at hotels to use their wireless service. Do any of you have the new gadget that you use to acess the internet?? If so with what company. My computer guru was telling me I needed that and also there is some type of power supply you can take with you when you fly or travel long distances. I know there is one that plugs into the vehicle. I am more interested in the one to use on "da plane". I found one at WalMart right after my guy told me but have not seen one since and I did not have the extra bucks then. Do any of you go to the computer place advertised on here???
