ok guys i have windows 98 [ancient] and all that i have looked at are members or real enpensive allthough itv says free its not .Any more sugestions

A couple of years ago I found a registry hack for Adobe Reader (but have since lost the bookmark).

It "disabled" the pre-loading of all the plug-ins (invoked when needed).

Dramatic speed increase in loading.

I was just going to suggest Foxit. By the time the Adobe splash screen finished drawing on your screen, with foxit you can be halfway through your document.
