I haven't checked this recently, but Consumer Reports rated Toshiba as the best laptop a couple of years ago. I bought one based on that recommendation. Based on my experience with it, I would highly recommend Toshiba to anyone considering purchasing a laptop.

I thinlk HP is at the top (or close) now. Sony is up there to along with Toshiba

Acer is suppose to be the best out now. Got one for granddaughter for Christmas. It is a really great computer, laptop. Got great deal at walmart. It has everything on it even a web cam.

I have an Acer. I think Acer is the 3rd or 4th largest computer company.?

I had an acer a few years ago and it was great. Since I've owned different brands and the acer was as good as any I've owned.
