Sports writers love riding UMD's you know what, I would love to go in the season under the radar and earn everything we get, but not gonna happen.

Carolina and Duke I can buy, but....MARYLAND? Maryland will do very well to outclass UVa and FSU. Wake's easily the a top 3 squad in the conference, and could be second if, as expected, the new 3 point line screws Duke's offense.

Your right but I have read several ACC predicions picking us to finish behind UNC, Duke, Miami, Maryland, and even Clemson. We will have to earn our respect at the start of the season and hopefuly keep it throghout as well.

WC: To be a sleeper, a team would have to sneak up on people. Trust me, ACC fans know full well what Wake has coming back and coming in this season.
Bud: Nice to see another copy and paste. The great thing about Plumlee is that he was a Heels fan his whole life, and when Roy went to see him play....well, Roy, who has coached nearly as many slow crackers in his life as Coach Rat, passed on offering a scholarship. So, not only is Duke getting more 2nd rate "big men", they are getting Carolina's sloppy 2nds in the process.
Tee hee.

I might be a homer but the sleeper of the ACC this year will be Wake. Entire team returns plus a top 3 recruting class. I don't expect Wake to beat UNC but they are not far behind in talent, just lacking experience and coaching. We are a year away but we will hopefully make huge strides this season. UNC should win the NC, much less the ACC. Duke will simply "choke" in the 2nd round....again.

Nine members of last year's 10-man rotation are back, and so are four double-figure scorers - including ACC rookie of the year Kyle Singler and Paulus, a 42-percent shooter from 3-point range whose lightning-rod personality has made him one of the most polarizing players in college basketball. They're complemented by a three-man freshman class that includes five-star guard Elliot Williams and big-bodied forwards Olek Czyz and Miles Plumlee. They will be counted upon to bolster the size and depth of a team that last season went on a 22-1 start that included a No. 2 national ranking and a victory over the tarholes.

Three games into the season and Duke is looking like, well, a solid football team. Considering the program's struggle-filled past, that's saying something. The Devils QB threw three touchdown passes to Eron Riley and Vincent Rey returned a fumble for a score to help Duke beat Navy 41-31 today ending a four-game losing streak in the series while further adding to the Blue Devils' growing confidence.

A 44-12 win for unc at Rutgers looks to be a pretty good indication that Rutgers is not the same team that competed for a Big East title and BCS slot as recently as a couple of years ago.
And besides did you notice unc's new uniforms?
Duke blue pants! LOL That was the difference.

True story: Wilkes Central's football field and surrounding seats draws more fans than Duke football.
