UNC down by 3 at halftime to Wake. It helps nobody if UNC is out of the top 25, so (and I can't believe I'm saying this....) LET'S GO TARHEELS.

If winning is the utlimate objective, I would assume you're a "fan" without a college degree.

Interesting that you tout Calipari, who has left two different NCAA colleges with sanctions...UMASS, and Memphis.

If that's what you want, glad you are not a Carolina fan. How the squid is still coaching is beyond me.

It's kind of interesting that Kentucky is playing with freshmen and sophmores and they haven't lost a game yet.
Roy's problem is he doesn't have the right mix to run a fast transition offense. That is his whole strategy. It allows you to get down court for easy shots before your opponent can get set up. If you don't believe it watch how he moves people in and out like a Chinese fire drill. Very few programs have the talent and depth to do it. Roy can win National Championships but he needs loads of talent on the floor and the bench. He came to Carolina so he could get the additonal talent he needs. Wasn't able to do it at Kansas in 15 years.

And?

Roy Williams is the winningest active coach in college basketball. UNC has won 2 National Championships in the past 5 years. Last year, with the departure of Hansbrough, Lawson, Ellington, and Green, UNC lost 80% of its scoring.

Anyone who didn't realize that this year would be a rebuilding year for Carolina doesn't know much about basketball (i.e. - "Frog").

Bud, Your comments on Roy Williams make zero sense. I think most people would call 2 National Championships (remember last year?) and a number of Final Fours in 5 years pretty dang respectable. I've criticized them quite a bit myself this year too, but you lose all credibility for yourself with comments like that.

unc lost one player in the tenth round of the NBA draft last year. It's starting to show. The No. 24 Tar Heels will try to avoid their first three-game losing streak under Roy Wiliams on Wednesday night when they host the Demon Deacons, who were blown out in their last game by the DUKE BLUE DEVILS.

North Carolina (12-6, 1-2 ACC) remained in the Top 25 (how I don't know) despite losses to then-No. 24 Clemson and then-No. 20 Georgia Tech last week. The Tar Heels haven't lost three in a row since who cares...that's when they hired Williams to restore the program to a respectable level. LMFAO.

The coach has certainly not done that and doesn't seem to have the answers yet for this season's squad.

"We've got to work on things and get our head out of our ****!! We've got to concentrate better. Good luck on that one.

Here, I will sum it up for all of you in just a few short words.

unc blows this year and you are hoping they will be better next year.

In my comment I never said that Lawson wasn't the driving force of the team. What I said is this years team needs someone with some heart and compassion for the game like Hansbrough. His intensity spread to the rest of the team. This years team has consistently came out and looked liked Eric Montross descirbed them last night on the radio broadcast..."asleep" It's about time these kids wake up and perform to their potential.

Local Sports Fan, you have hit the nail on the head buddy.

Lawson was always the one driving the Heels car, not Hansbrough.

I agree with almost everything you say, and you'll be agreeing with me on my earlier comments before its all said and done.

UNC may very well start all 3 of those freshman next seaso before the season is all said and done because this years freshman as a whole are overrated.

I thought Ed Davis was gonna be a stud, but he's proving he should have cashed in last season when he was projected as high as #2 by some scouts. He'll never be that high again.

You can forget Henson every being anything, remember, he came to UNC because he had perimeter skills! LOL

Well, obviously he don't, but now UNC fans say he'll bulk up and be the man at the 4 next season! Nope, won't happen. Name the last perimeter skilled played who moved to the 4 and was successful, I won't hold my breath.

UNC will be good, and better next season, they always are, but Lawson's and Hansbrough's don't come at the snap of fingers.

UNC is still better than most, but you better get used to seeing subpar performances for the foreseeable future.

I will never question the intensity or heart of Hansbrough, but Ty Lawson drove UNC to the National Championship last year. I actually thought Psycho T's intensity was a problem at times last year (although I would like it from someone this year). He wanted to be THE guy so much last year that he often got in the way by trying to do too much. UNC could have had a decent shot at winning it last year without TH, but take Lawson away and they had no shot. TH was not the player last year that he had been the previous 3 either. He never could handle a team with 2 big men. His presence helped them at times with certain teams, but I actually was getting tired of seeing him play. His intensity, however, is something that is hard to teach. They have no one this year with any emotion at all. Thompson began the year playing well, but is terrible in every aspect of the game now. Has anyone actually ever seen him talk? Strickland will be good with his speed and ability to get to the basket. Drew is a good passer but he has no one to pass it to; who on UNC's team wants the ball besides Graves (who only shoots when he gets the rock)? Davis is a good shot blocker and gets a lot of rebounds, but has been poor at boxing out for most of the year, not to mention he seems to never have a clue where the ball is on offense. Henson will be good but only when he adds some muscle. McDonald will be a great shooter off the bench when his nerves come down. I don't know why but I get the feeling that Zeller will transfer before it's all over (he only knows a hook shot now - whether he is open or not). I'm starting to wish that at least one of the Wear's had gone somewhere else - they are not adapting to college at all at this point (yes they are young, but I'm not so sure about their potential). Ginyard needs to sit on the bench more and give the others more turns - his career is at an end and he is 6 or 7 man potential only. I'd like to see what would happen with Drew, Strickland, and McDonald on the court together for longer periods of time. I also feel like something is going on with Roy Williams that he is not being vocal about at this time (Something is not right personally or physically with him that is having an impact on his coaching). I know I will draw a lot of criticism from other UNC fans with my comments on Tyler Hansbrough, but it is only MY opinion. I call it like I see it, and don't usually worry as much about what the media says. Psycho had a great college career, but I'm glad he's moved on. If only he could teach this team some emotion. Even the weaker emotions would be better than what they show now. Throw some punches and get some bloody noses or something!
